Sant’Agnese is a winery in Castellina-in-Chianti in the Chianti Classico DOCG region of Tuscany. Sant’Agnese takes its name from the nearby nature reserve of Bosco Sant’Agnese. The estate was a rest area for weary travellers on the road from Florence to Siena. The Sant’Agnese property dates to the year 1000 AD, when it belonged to a religious order. Sant’Agnese underwent its greatest change around three hundred years ago, when the property was bought by family whose descendants are still present today.
