MONTECALVI is an organic winery in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany, Italy. 

BACKGROUND 1988 Renzo Bolli, who was from Umbria, bought the estate as a retirement project with his Irish wife Bernadette. Bolli’s previous a career was in computing. After Renzo died in 1998 his daughter Jacqueline and her husband, Daniel, took over. In 2017 (check date) Jacqueline sold Montecalvi to a London-based Australian.

CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG, MONTECALVI 2013 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Canaiolo. IGT TOSCANA ROSSO 2013 95% Sangiovese (some vines dating to 1932), 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. 12 mnths in tonneaux. Lovely flavour and texture.6Tasted at the Chianti Classico Anteprima, Stazione Leopolda, Florence on Monday 12th February 2018.
