Kiralyudvar, or the ‘King’s Court’ is a winery in the Tokaji region of Hungary. For centuries it was a royal site that supplied imperial wines to the Hapsburgs. In 1997 Kiralyudvar was purchased by Anthony Hwang, owner of renowned Vouvray estate Domaine Huet. He and Noel Pinguet, his Loire winemaker rebuilt the 16th century chateau, rehabilitated the vineyards and converted the entire estate to Biodynamics. The winemaking has been a proving ground for modern Hungarian masters Istvan Szepsy and Zoltan Demeter and is now managed by Zoltan’s protégé Szabolcs Juhász.
