Giacomo Tachis (1933–2016) was an oenologist and consultant in his native Italy. One of his key consultancies was with the Cantina di Santadi co-operative in Sardinia. He also worked in Tuscany–with Tenuta di Argiano in Montalcino for example–where he was known as father of the SuperTuscan wines–such as Tignanello from Antinori. Tachis is seen as having kickstarted Italy’s wine renaissance. He was born in Poirini and died in San Casciano in Val di Pesa.
