Ecovin | AKA the Bundesverband Ökologischer Weinbau, which was founded in 1985, and is the largest association of ecologically operating wineries in Germany (which see for data on Ecovin’s member vineyards). Its members identify with biodiversity, respect for nature, meaningfulness, and aesthetics. Ecovin members benefit from comprehensive training and further education programmes, and Ecovin itself contributes to international guidelines on organics, being regarded as the key professional association for organic viticulture. EcoVin has begun a close cooperation with Demeter in Germany (Demeter e.V.) in this regard. Double membership for wine-growers in both associations is the logical extension of this.
