Château Siran is located in the commune of Labarde in the Margaux AOC on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. The ‘charming property is famous for its vintage-time cyclamen,’ (Hugh Johnson & Hubrecht Duijker: 1987, p.73).

Owner: Owned by the same family, the Miailhe, since 1848.

Classification: Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. William-Alain Miailhe commissioned a study to show that 40% of Siran’s vineyards were classified in 1855 before changes of ownership, whereas many 1855 classed growths have a lower proportion than Siran (Hugh Johnson: Wine Companion: 1991, p.56).

Winery: William-Alain Miailhe built an anti-nuclear cellar.
