Château du Champ du Moulin | Organic estate winery in Fossès et Baleyssac in the Entre-Deux-Mers region on the right bank of the Bordeaux region producing red wine under the Bordeaux Rouge AOC.

Owner | Michel Liessi has managed various wine estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Mercurey, Chablis, and Sauternes (Château Guiraud). From 1991 he created his own domaine, Château du Champ du Moulin, as a side activity. He took the grapes to a co-operative until 2013 when he launched his own label.

Vineyards, terroir | 2016: 10 hectares (25 acres) of vines in Fossès-et-Baleyssac on a clay-limestone plateau overlooking the Garonne river. 50% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc.

Bordeaux Rouge AOC, Château du Champ du Moulin | 2015 80% Cabernet, 20% Merlot. Machine picked. Steel and cement. No temperature control. Physical pigeage. 6-8 months in barrel. 4 euros export. Lovely red fruit (Millésime Bio 2016). | 2016 Really clear, wholesome fruit (Millésime Bio 2017).

Bordeaux Rouge AOC, Château du Champ du Moulin, Le L | 2013 Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. Steel. 12m in barrel.
