Buonconvento is a commune in Siena Province, Tuscany. An important agricultural centre, Buonconvento lies at the confluence of the Arbia and Ombrone rivers on the northern edge of the Montalcino zone and on the Via Cassia (Siena-Rome) Roman road (look out for frogs underfoot) . It also lies along the route of the mediaeval Via Francigena on the other. The town lies within 14th-century brick walls.

Terroir:  Vineyards in part of the commune are also allowed the Val d’Arbia DOC (for white or pink wines only). Ponte d’Arbia, a village classified as a frazione of Buonconvento is shared with Monteroni d’Arbia.
