Alto Adige DOC Pinot Bianco, white wine from Alto Adige (Südtirol) in northern Italy (see Alto Adige DOC) made from a minimum 85% Pinot Blanc. Pinot Blanc was apparently cultivated here for the first time in 1850. It can be made as a ‘passito’ or ‘vendemmia tardiva’ or ‘riserva’. Pinot Bianco vies with Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc among the leading white wine grape varieties in the region. It is mainly found in Oltradige, Bassa Atesina and Adige Valley.

Typical flavours: Apples, pears, lemons, hay, hazelnuts. Lively acidity. Usually unoaked.
